Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a noninvasive, non-contact, imaging technique able to produce high-resolution images detailing the structure of the eye in 3D.

Digital Retinal Photography, included as part of the NHS eye examination, allows our Optometrists to detect any changes in the surface of the retina whereas OCT gives our Optometrists the ability to examine what lies beneath the retinal surface and potentially detect eye disease at an earlier stage.

OCT is included in our Enhanced Eye Examination and incurs a fee of £17.50 when carried out in conjunction with your NHS Eye examination.
